Succeeding as young women leaders in Economics

Are you a female economics student? Do you want to be better prepared for your career journey? Join us for an exclusive career-readiness and leadership development workshop organized by the University of Adelaide Women in Economics Program (WIE) and Australian Women in Economics Network (WEN). This is a rare opportunity for the female economics students to develop their leadership skills, learn their strengths, and get ready for the job market. This workshop will be presented by Madhu Jeyakumaran, who is a leadership coach and gender diversity expert.

The following topics will be addressed.

  • Understanding and embracing your power and strengths
  • The Opportunities Vs Challenges for young women at the workplace
  • Practical tips for succeeding in job interviews and in your first year at your job
  • Embracing the leader in you and climbing the career leader
  • Simplifying the search for purpose

In the first 40 minutes of the workshop, Madhu will cover the above topics in a facilitated discussion format. Following a pizza break, a group activity will be done where you will have an opportunity to demonstrate your learning & confidence. (If you have limited time, you can participate in the first part only).

Madhu Jeyakumaran is a leadership coach, gender diversity expert, Founder of Think Stride – A coaching and leadership development firm. She is driven by the vision to fast-track the progress towards gender diversity and build future ready women leaders at the workplace. Madhu has close to a decade of corporate experience working in large multi-national organizations where she led multiple people transformation projects. Madhu holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Management and is a certified Leadership and Transformational Coach. She is also the author of the book ‘Stride – A woman’s guide to an extraordinary life, career and leadership’ which was launched globally in Jan 2019.
