SPECIAL INVITATION: Seminar on labour economics and end-of-year WEN (SA) wrap up

Economic Society of Australia (ESA) and Women in Economics Network (WEN) members and associates are warmly invited to a lunchtime seminar organised by the Centre for Markets, Values and Inclusion (CMVI), University of South Australia (UniSA). Dr Ishita Chatterjee, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, University of Western Australia Business School will present on the following topic: Degree recognition, network quality and the labour market outcomes of migrants in Australia

Dr Chatterjee will discuss how the recognition of foreign qualifications impacted the labour market outcomes of immigrants in Australia between 2001 and 2020. It provides the first analysis of how mutual recognition agreements (MRAs) between independent professional bodies can address the consistent sub-optimal labour market performance and underutilised skills experienced by immigrants.

The event will commence with a light lunch followed by a seminar by Dr Ishita Chatterjee and end of year wrap-up by WEN (SA). There will be an opportunity for a Q&A session as well as networking afterwards. Nibbles and drinks will also be provided during the networking event.
