Women in Economics Network South Australia Mentoring Program

The Women in Economics Network (WEN) South Australia Committee is thrilled to extend an invitation for expressions of interest from prospective female mentors for the upcoming mentoring program in 2023-24. This program aims to connect women studying economics with experienced female economists in the field, fostering stronger ties among South Australian women economists while inspiring and encouraging women to pursue economics as a career path.

It's important to note that the term 'economist' is used in a broad sense. We recognize that many economics graduates may not hold the specific title of 'economist,' yet they utilize their economics background in their professional pursuits. Therefore, a key objective of this mentoring program is to showcase the diverse range of opportunities available to economics graduates in South Australia.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from potential mentors who are willing to dedicate approximately 8 hours of support over a period of 12 months. To be eligible as a mentor, you must identify as female, work in an economics-related field in South Australia and have a minimum of two years of professional experience. Interested mentors are encouraged to submit their expressions of interest by Monday, July 31, 2023, using the provided form or by scanning the QR code below.

Please visit here for further information on the program. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the WEN SA Director of Mentorship Program, Jacky Southcott, at jackysouthcott@gmail.com. Applications for students will open next month, and we will reach out through university networks.

Thank you in advance and we sincerely value your support.
