Meet the speaker:





Catherine de Fontenay has been a Commissioner of the Productivity Commission since 2019\, beginning a second term in 2024. She has led work on industry support and trade\, productivity\, inequality and mobility\, the care sector\, and the education sector. In 2025 she co-led the Pillar inquiry into A Skilled and Adaptable Workforce\, and she is currently co-leading an inquiry into Regional Airfares and an inquiry into a possible safeguard action in fabricated structural steel.
